Show pictures, videos and links in a task

A task can show participants pictures, videos and links above its questions. Use them for concept tests, pack and ad tests, or to send people to a website or prototype for a usability test.

Owners and researchers can add and change them.

Add a picture or video

1. Open the task from the Tasks tab.
2. Under Shown to participants, go to Add a picture or video.
3. Choose the File: a JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF picture, or an MP4, MOV or WebM video.
4. Optionally, write a Caption, such as "Concept A". Participants see it under the picture.
5. If the study has more than one language, choose Show to: All languages, or one language only.
6. Click Upload. A bar shows the progress.

Pictures can be up to 15 MB and videos up to 300 MB and 10 minutes. Pictures are copied without their metadata, at most 2000 pixels wide. Videos are converted so they play well on phones. That takes a minute or two, and the video shows "Converting for phones" until it is ready. Participants see it only once it is ready.

Add a link

1. Under Add a link, type the Web address, such as https://example.com/booking. If you leave out https://, Zolensa adds it.
2. Optionally, write the Link text, such as "Open the new booking page". Without it, participants see the name of the website.
3. Choose Show to, if the study has more than one language.
4. Click Add link.

Participants see the link as a card with an Open button. The website opens in a new tab.

What participants see

Everything shows above the questions, in the order you set. Participants can tap a picture to see it larger, and play a video in the page. Each item shows only to participants who use the language you chose for it, or to everyone.

The Participant preview next to the questions shows the task with its pictures, videos and links in each language.

Change, reorder or remove

On each item:

• Change: edit the caption or link text, and who sees it.
• The arrows move it up or down.
• Remove takes it off the task. Participants no longer see it.

A task can show up to 12 pictures, videos and links.

One version per market

When a board or an ad has text on it, upload one version per language and choose the language for each. Participants in Germany then see the German board, and participants in France the French one.

Tip: For a test with several concepts, put each concept in its own task, with the same questions. Then the answers are easy to compare. See Add tasks.
