Language, reminders and stopping
Read your consent form again, change the language, turn reminders on or off, or stop taking part.
The Help screen is where you manage how you take part. Tap Help at the bottom of the screen to open it. The screen is called Help and privacy. At the top, it shows the name of the study and who runs it.
Read your consent form again
Under Your consent you see the date you signed. Tap Read the consent form to see the form exactly as you signed it.
Change the language
If the study is available in more than one language, you see Language.
- Choose your language from the list.
- Tap Change.
The study then shows in that language. Reminder and message emails also use it.
You can also change the language at the top of the consent form, before you sign.
Turn reminders on or off
When a new task opens, you may get a reminder, usually by email. Some people get a text message instead. Reminders are never sent at night, between 22:00 and 07:00 your time.
To stop reminders:
- Go to Reminders.
- Tap Turn reminders off.
The screen then says Reminders are off. Check this app yourself for new tasks. To get them again, tap Turn reminders on.
Note: With reminders off, you can still take part. Remember to open the study each day to see your tasks.
Stop taking part
You can stop at any time. You do not have to give a reason.
- Go to Stop taking part.
- If you want, tick Also ask for everything I have shared to be deleted.
- Tap Stop taking part.
- Your phone asks if you are sure. Confirm.
You see You have left the study. After that:
- You get no more tasks or reminders.
- Your phone is signed out, and your personal link no longer works.
- If you ticked the box, your request to delete what you shared goes to the research team. They then delete your answers, videos, photos, voice notes, messages and contact details for good.
Note: Stopping cannot be undone in the app. If you change your mind, contact the research team before you stop, through Messages.
Questions about your data
The research team that invited you is responsible for your answers and recordings. Ask them through Messages if you want to know how your data is used. See Messages from the research team.
